DEL DIOS
SOCCER FIELD GETS ITS TURF REPLACED
On Friday June 20 through the 21st, members of the SoCal Chapter
began and completed their annual community service. This year
the Chapter renovated the Del Dios Middle School soccer field.

Work began in earnest on June 19th when several members began
the project by tilling up the existing field in preparation for
laser leveling, new irrigation heads, seeding and 20,000 square
feet of big roll sod.

Friday saw a work force of approximately 20 members converge
on the site at 7 a.m. to prepare for the long work day. The approximate
20,000 square feet of field space needed to be ready for the
big roll sod installation beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday. Saturday
saw the trucks from West Coast Turf arrive at the site and the
sod starting to go down.

The Chapter estimated the renovation cost to be in the area
of $25,000 to $30,000. As usual, the Chapter could not have taken
on another worthy project without the support of its commercial
members and a commitment from the professional side to supply
the manpower to perform such a large renovation.

Del Dios Middle School is located in Escondido, CA on the corner
of 9th and Valley Parkway.
